It's annoying, and they will use the potty in the house instead of just going through their door. The door is not blocked.

I give my prisoners small cells to sleep in and a "common area" between their cells and the outside prison yard. Set the prison yard/common area door to stay open in the day time and right before their work day ends set it to stay closed.
