WebOk so from my understanding the purpose of the pre amp is to prevent clipping, and changing the value from -9.5 to -5.5 for instance, could cause issues. But would going in the opposite direction be fine? I have one pair of headphones I use with -9.5 and the other has -5.5. I tested with Clears, HD800, HD650 and DT770's. It was night and day, the SW curve/filters sound very poor in comparison. I don't know why; you'd assume both curves would be similar.
