WebThe "iPhoto Events" is merely a copy of what was imported from your iPhoto Library when you converted to the new OS X Photos app. This was done to preserve how your photos were originally organized in iPhoto, but it really has no link to iPhoto nor does it have any bearing on how your photos are organized in Photos.
