The velocities listed for a 14 inch barrel using 50 to 55 grain bullets (cast) range from the high 1800 fps to the 2100 fps range. I would think this would work perfectly for your goal. Witryna12 lut 2012 · Im lookin in the Lyman book right now and it lists Unique, 2400, SR-4759, IMR-4227, XMP-5744 and IMR-4198 as suitable powders to reduced cast loads for the .303 british, all of which are fast burning powders compared to H4895, which is a medium speed powder normally suited to full power .303 brit loads.

Using a NOE 379279 (basically a long, fat 375449) that weighs about 285 grs. Also have a newish Lyman 380681 and a NOE 375449 clone. Haven’t tried the 375449 clone yet.

It is my powder of choice for 270-300 grain bullets in my .44 carbines and for 300 grainers in my .460. Never had that much luck with it in .357 or with light for caliber bullets.
