WebDiamond Head's third album, Canterbury was a huge disappointment for fans and critics alike. Gone were the colossal, Black Sabbath inspired riffs and complex arrangements which permeated their classic debut Lightning to the Nations, replaced by an ill-fated attempt at incorporating pop elements into their songwriting. Brian Tatler formed the band with drummer Duncan Scott while still attending at school. In June 1976 they found singer Sean Harris, who was in the same year, and went through three bass players before settling on Collin Kimberley in Feb 1978. The band recorded two self-financed demo tapes in 1979.
