You can verify this for yourself by setting up wireshark on the Pi and including a filter like this ip.addr==192.168.1.81 && icmp You'll see the pings going out but nothing coming back in.

If I login to the router I can see in the client list and ping the raspberry pi, and generally (not always) I can successfully ping it from the desktop with a wired connection. Troubleshooting steps taken so far with no success. Disable IPV6 on all computers.

Put another way, your assertion that the pi is not responding to pings is based on a leap of faith that it is connected to the network and you have the correct address for it.
